Replacement Heifer Vitamin/ Mineral Supplementation

Vigortone Dairy Heifer Minerals are complete vitamin-mineral mixes specially formulated to aid in the prevention of nutritional deficiencies in dairy heifers.

Vigortone Dairy Heifer Minerals contain highly available sources of calcium and phosphorus which are important minerals needed for good bone development. Phosphorus, magnesium and sulfur also are needed to optimize energy use, fiber digestion and reproduction.

Vigortone Dairy Heifer Minerals contain specially formulated blends of trace minerals including cobalt, copper, iodine, iron, manganese, zinc and selenium. These trace minerals play a variety of roles in energy and protein metabolism, tissue and bone growth, immune system integrity, and reproductive efficacy. Vitamins A, D, and E, which are vital to the development of healthy, well-grown replacement heifers, are an important component of Vigortone Dairy Heifer Minerals. Vigortone Dairy Heifer Minerals do contain salt.

Vigortone Dairy Heifer Premixes with Rumensin®

Rumensin alters the rumen microrganism population, favoring those bacteria yielding propionic acid and reducing the bacteria that waste energy by producing carbon dioxide and methane. Thus, more energy is available to the heifer from each unit of intake. Rumensin can also be used for the prevention and control of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis and Eimeria zuernii.

DH6504R
Fits most forage programs and is the standard choice.

DH6514R
Same as DH6504R with the addition of Altosid®. Altosid is an insect growth regulator (IGR) fed to cattle during the fly season. Because Altosid is a synthetic hormone that prevents fly emergence, it stops horn fly development at the pupal stage. When fed to cattle, Altosid passes through the digestive system into the manure, where it breaks the life cycle of the horn fly.

DH6594R
Same as DH6504R with the addition of a Hoof Power Pack. Generally, dairy heifers do not suffer from lameness. However, when problems are seen in the milking herd, they may have originated while heifers were growing. The outer hoof horn is built at the top of the hoof at the coronary band and can take 15 months to reach the bottom or surface contact. Growing strong, healthy hooves requires sulfer containing amino acids, minerals, and vitamins. The Hoof Power Pack adds sulfer, zinc proteinate, and biotin to promote better hoof health.

DH6904R
A high calcium: low phosphorus premix for non-legume forages.

DH6508 - Free Choice Heifer Premix
A premix without medication formulated for optimum palatability for free choice programs.
