Milk Replacers
All Vigortone milk replacers contain B vitamins. The calf has a nonfunctional
rumen, and fermentation processes in the rumen normally provide these B vitamins
to older animals. Major minerals, trace minerals, and vitamins A, D, and E are
also fortified at high levels. All of our milk replacers are fortified with
selenium yeast. Selenium yeast is a strong antioxidant that helps the immune system
combat disease. When selenium is provided in the form of selenium yeast, it is
more readily utilized by the body than inorganic forms like sodium selenite. All ingredients are gently handled to preserve
their nutritional quality and mixing ease.
Vigortone milk replacers are available in 50 lb bags containing a measuring
cup. These bags include a heat sealed plastic layer to seal out moisture and
seal in quality.

VigorMilk 23-15 is a nonmedicated all-milk protein milk replacer designed to
promote early grain consumption. VigorMilk 23-15 contains mannanoligosaccharides
(MOS) and selenium yeast to keep calves healthy and growing.
VigorMilk 23-15 is formulated with a high protein-to-fat ratio for
muscle and skeletal growth. Its all-milk protein is a highly palatable, easily
absorbed source of protein and energy and is designed for 20 ounce/calf/day or greater
feeding rates. VigorMilk 23-15 is manufactured with a unique instantizing
process for easy mixing, feeding, and cleaning.
MOS is an ingredient derived from the cell wall of yeast. MOS works by
attracting bacteria to the mannan sugar, and thus prevents them from attaching
to epithelial cells within the gut. Without the ability to attach to cells in
the gut, pathogenic bacteria are flushed out of the calf's digestive tract.
Research shows:
- MOS positively influenced the rate of recovery from scours
- Calf starter consumption increased at a faster rate in calves fed MOS
- These calves also consumed more starter feed postweaning

Vigortone VigorMilk 22BNT is a 22% protein milk replacer. Vigortone VigorMilk
products are all-milk protein products. Vigortone VigorMilk 22BNT contains 20%
fat for optimum energy.
Vigortone VigorMilk 22BNT contains mannan
oligosaccharides (MOS) derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae. In research
trials, MOS has demonstrated the ability to reduce the ill effects of
exposure to pathogenic bacteria. Pathogenic bacteria (Salmonella and E. coli)
cause intestinal infections which can negatively impact calf performance. In
order for the pathogens to colonize in the gut, they must bind to the intestinal
wall. This binding occurs via receptors on the bacterial cell (lectins) which
recognize certain sugars (particularly mannose) on the intestinal wall. The mode
of action of MOS is to provide a source of complex mannose to which the
bacteria will preferentially attach. Once attached to MOS, the pathogenic
bacteria are carried down the intestinal tract and out of the calf, thus
reducing the level of colonization. Vigortone VigorMilk 22BNT also contains Neomycin Sulfate-Oxytetracycline - This
combination of antibiotics aids in the prevention of bacterial diarrhea (scours)
in calves. VigorMilk 22NT should be used in those herds where Neomycin and
Oxytetracycline are effective in controlling scour problems in the herd. The
medication in these products is not a therapeutic dose level but the level for
prevention of calf scours. WARNING: Withdraw 30 days before slaughter.

Vigortone VigorMilk 20NT Medicated is the standard 20% all-milk protein and
20% fat.
Vigortone VigorMilk 20NT Medicated contains neomycin sulfate and
oxytetracycline. This combination of antibiotics aids in the prevention of
bacterial diarrhea (scours) in calves. The medication in this product is not a
therapeutic dose level but the level for prevention of calf scours. WARNING:
Withdraw 30 days before slaughter. A withdrawal period has not been established
for this product in preruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed
for veal.

Vigortone VigorMilk 20D is a 20% all-milk protein product. 20D contains
decoquinate for the prevention of coccidiosis in nonruminating calves caused by
E. bovis and E. zuernii. This dairy milk replacer contains
20% fat for optimum energy. |
